Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Table
From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
